Name: Bird's Nest

Obtained: 2005, Des Moines, Iowa - United States.

I saw this drink everywhere in Viet Nam, but never picked it up because it both looked unpleasant and I could not confirm that it was an energy drink. I'm still not sure that it is, but a local free paper mentioned it as one, so I thought I'd add it to the collection (it's available in an Asian grocery here). As you can see from the can, it's "White Fungus Bird's Nest." I don't know if white fungus is mushrooms or mold. The drink was very sweet and thick, tasting quite similar to tapioca, but had lumps in it (fungus I assume) that looked and felt much like aloe vera (also occasionally found in drinks). The weird part, however, was the ingredients list: "Water, Sugar, White fungus, Bird's Nest." I didn't notice any effects. 3/5 Genkis.
