Name: Red Bull

Obtained: 2005, Beijing - China

Chinese Red Bull - I guess the color makes more sense over there. It was so damn cold in Beijing I had a hard time drinking this stuff, but it was only half the cost of the canned coffee, so it was my morning pick-me-up while I was in China. Tasted just like Thai Red Bull (but with the usual overtones courtesy of steel-cans), and may have even been made by the Thai Red Bull company (though i doubt it, it was made in China afterall - not a place reknowned for respecting trademarks). I tried to take a couple cans out of the country with me because they were so cheap, but the Chinese customs agent (yes customs searches you on the way out of the country) told me I wasn't allowed to leave China with any beverages other than water (he did let me down the drinks there in front of him and then keep the empty cans however). 3/5 Genkis.

Association:
The terrible sounds that play from my musical Chairman Mao lighter (also obtained in China).
