Name: Krating Daeng (Thai RedBull)

Obtained: 2005, Bangkok - Thailand.

The drink that started it all. Krating Daeng (Thai Red Bull) was the drink that Austrian Red Bull (the type we all know and love) was based on, though they are made by entirely different companies. Strange stories and urban legends surround this drink; though in the end it is simply an energy drink, with no more caffeine than is average for such beverages. It has a good kick, and a sweet, syrupy texture/taste that is reminiscent of the western kind minus the carbonation and with added sugar. Most Asian energy drinks (which tend to come in small brown bottles) are also based on this drink, mimicking its flavor closely. 5/5 Genkis.

I saw this in in a small shop in Montreal and had to get it, definetly interesting, basically Red Bull sans carbonation. lol, i've kept the bottle just to show friends :-P
