Name: Lipovitan-D

Obtained: 2003, Nagoya - Japan.

The first drink I tried when I got to Japan, Lipovitan is the original Japanese energy drink, and possibly the world's orginal energy drink. This stuff sparked a craze in Japan when it was first intrroduced in the 1960's that has yet to see an end, and has since spread to the rest of the world. You now find, in any convenience store in Japan, an entire wall of energy drinks, but this one is always included. I'm not sure if the "D" formulation is the original stuff, but it's what I saw everywhere and drank regularly. This is also one of the consistently cheapest drinks of the Nihon selection. It contains caffeine, nicotine, taurine, and lots of vitamins, and is great for smokers on a long flight. I always found that it gave me a good pick-me-up, especially when I drank two or three (which I often did on my way to the club). Lipovitan has a unique syrupy sweet flavor that has sparked many imitators in Japan. 5/5 Genkis.

This stuff is pretty good, but if you're in japan get the ripo vitamin D 11 version, it will make you FLY!!!!!!! I drank some like 3 hours ago and I still feel out of control, it must have been the 1500 mg of taurine in 100 ml of a drink, super concentrated, you will get a kick the first drink you have.

I bought this drink in thailand and it was a great pick-me-up. In the above review, Nicotine is mentioned but I think this has been mistaken for Nicotinamide which is a form of vitamin B3, so for smokers, I would stick to patches or gum.
